My Practice

Naturopathic Medical Health Coaching

How Can I Help You?

We are fortunate in the Portland area to have many options for standard western medical standard of care, and I encourage patients to utilize these options for urgent issues and for conventional procedures and care. I offer my patients an alternative: holistic healing and wellness. I am committed to my approach and to my patients. Appointments are generous, allowing us ample time to process, to troubleshoot, and to craft an individual treatment plan, building your foundation of health and self-care ever stronger.

At each visit we continue to check in on goals, to be certain we are meeting our milestones and staying focused, while also adapting to new developments as they occur. Healing is not a linear process, though with consistent focus and attention, we develop a wholesome discipline. This provides a container, allowing the process to take on an energy of its own and effectively allowing the body to heal itself.

While I have a scope of practice and a skill set that allows me to prescribe drugs, much of the time I choose not to, relying instead on the Healing Power of Nature — herbs, home remedies, energetic techniques, lifestyle modification, and nutrition. Together, we take the time to identify your health goals, set a timeframe for achieving these goals, and create mileposts to pause and take stock of progress along the way. I am your coach and guide in interpreting often confusing test results or diagnoses. I am at your side as we gently explore the blocks to cure, bringing body, mind and spirit into balance. Together, we craft an individual treatment plan that promotes healing from deep within.

My intention is to provide you with a place to unpack emotions, reveal and heal inner spiritual wounds and identify the deep energetic layers that underlie physical symptoms. When this is achieved, less healthy habits and patterns dissolve naturally and new, healthier ones emerge, moving you naturally toward joyful activity and balanced rhythms that promote ease, comfort and alignment of body, mind and spirit — health.

What I Don’t Do

I don’t presume to know your body or your path to wholeness and health better than you. I do look at the whole picture, I distill it down, I make my recommendations and I say it straight and simply. This empowers you to take my advice if it feels true for you. This generates and promotes self-care within you, and trust between us.

I don’t practice urgent or emergency medicine unless an urgent need arises for an established patient who is enrolled in ongoing process work. I am happy though, to meet after your visit to discuss alternatives and prevention of future urgent issues.

I choose not to focus on symptoms but rather on underlying cause. While we may decide to utilize short-term treatments to alleviate pain or discomfort, we will do this only if the remedy is also ultimately curative.

While I can provide information on testing schedules and standard of care including vaccines, colonoscopies, mammograms, pap smears and other conventional schedules, I don’t advise on these or order them routinely unless you ask me to. This is best managed through a western medical facility.

If this sounds like what you are looking for in a licensed, medical health coach, please schedule a free, 20-minute consultation, either in person or over the phone. I look forward to helping you achieve optimal wellness and health.
